My name is Emma and I created Empowered Equals as I couldn’t find the kind of t-shirts and hoodies I wanted to wear. I was looking for clothing to support social movements such as intersectional feminism and anti-racism. I also wanted to wear organic clothes that were less harsh to the environment than what was available on the high street.

My designs are made to be simple and straight to the point. As minimalist as possible while still being fun, unique, and interesting. I involve the children when designing and my youngest has fully designed most of the kids tshirts/hoodies.

Everything is sent out in sustainable packaging (no plastic bags here) and I try to offer as many sizes as possible – sometimes we do fall short as manufacturers are still not getting the point about inclusivity.
